Medical Acupuncture

Medical acupuncture involves stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles. This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins. It's likely that these naturally released substances are responsible for the beneficial effects experienced with acupuncture.

What's the difference between western and traditional Chinese acupuncture? Traditional Chinese acupuncture is based on the belief that it can restore the flow of Qi, an energy that flows through your body, while western medical acupuncture is evidence- based and is only administered after a full diagnosis.

We use medical acupuncture as a standalone treatment or as part of a 60min appointment. before we administer acupuncture you will have an enhanced informed consent form as well as a full consultation to ensure this is the right treatment for you.
